Texas Transportation Museum is located near San Antonio. It was set up in 1964 to preserve information and artifacts connected with the history of transportation in San Antonio. As a part of its efforts, it collects transportation equipment, preserves and displays them for the benefit of the people. Many of the artifacts, including railroad engines are in running condition and can be operated. The company operates models of train layouts of several kinds, different kinds of road vehicles and also a heritage road.
