San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival
Every year in October the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival (SAICFF)—sponsored by Vision Forum Ministries—draws more than a thousand people from all over the United States and other countries around the world to witness the Jubilee Awards. Each year more than 130 films are submitted by budding Christian filmmakers, and the best of different categories get an award; the top award, the Jubilee Award—called The Best of Festival—is the grand prize.
Among the awards are Best Political, Best Documentary, Best Biblical Family and others. The films are written and directed by the filmmakers, they are judged on talent, originality and the content giving honor to God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Some films are in our modern times and others depict the families in the biblical times.
The Christian films communicate joy, sorrow, courage, sacrifice and love. The message of the SAICFF is that no one is neutral; they either embrace darkness of embrace the light. America as a whole is becoming dissatisfied with the negative culture of Hollywood; they are ready to see movies that will lift them up and give them hope.
The San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival is encouraging Christian filmmakers to get their work noticed. Hollywood has cornered the market for years with films that glorify the dark side of humanity; it is time now for Christians to share the Word of God through film.
