The Labor Day Arts and Crafts Show is held every year along the River Walk Extension in San Antonio. This one of a kind arts and crafts show offers a wide selection of hand crafted items that are truly unique and one of a kind. Each vendor that has a booth on the River Walk has to submit photos of his or her work as well as the artisan at work making the items to ensure the authenticity and originality of the merchandise offered. Crafters and artists from San Antonio, from Texas and even from out of state set up their booths for the entire long weekend and provide an educational and beautiful addition to the River Walk.
The vendors of many of the booths and displays will be working on a sample of their art or craft item and are willing to answer questions about the item as well as discuss the processes used. Some of the many different types of art and craft items found during the show include jewelry, clothing, ceramics, Mexican pottery, leatherwork, Texas art, paintings, sculptures, candles and even home decorations and handmade soaps and natural cosmetics and beauty products. While this is a show, most vendors will also have a great selection of items for sale, or the vendors can discuss any art you may want done on a custom basis. The River Walk itself is also open for business, providing fine dining at the many terraced restaurants, hotels on the river, entertainment, tours and of course additional shopping in galleries, stores and boutiques.
