Riverwalk in San Antonio always alive and brimming with action is no stranger to Halloween fun, come out and enjoy the wonderful Coffins On Parade, you do not want to miss this famous Halloween spectacle. Imagine floating coffins in boats traveling along the San Antonio River, as your children squeal in horror or delight. This Halloween favorite parade and celebration is hosted by the Paseo Del Rio Association, a non profit San Antonio organization that provide the decorative coffins free of charge for all to see.
Of course this eerie parade can only be celebrated late afternoon to night when all the ghosts and goblins come to life. Crowds line the banks of the river to view the coffins passing by on the Heart of San Antonio, or other river barges, bands play and the atmosphere is a live with Rio Carnival flavor. The Halloween festivities continue well into the evening as the
Riverwalk continues to liven up with a fiesta style river party. The festival continues with a best costume-judging contest and cash prizes are given out the three best Halloween attire. This festival can get real wild with good food, good music, good entertainment, and of course good libations.
