Fredericksburg is a small city on the western side of the Hill Country. With a population of just under 10,000, this small city is known for its friendly ambiance and unique German culture. Here, you can find dozens of shops and cafe-style restaurants lining the main streets, as well as a dozens of charming bed and breakfasts tucked away in the nearby countryside. The city was the birthplace of Admiral Nimitz and is the home of the National Museum of the Pacific War in his honor. Within a few minutes' drive of Fredericksburg, you will find the famous small town of Luckenbach, made famous as a country music haven by musician Willie Nelson. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is also located a short drive from Fredericksburg, and is a popular area for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area while learning more about the native vegetation.
